Can I Play Too?

The City of Welland is offering subsidies for youth in the Welland community. This grant is specific for the programs offered in their Leisure Guide, and grants are given at a first come first serve basis.  This is a Municipal level grant.

Grant Description

This Grant provides subsidies for youth ages 3-18 participating City of Welland and sport and recreation programs.

Specifics and Requirements

Program funded must be offered by the City of Welland Parks, Facilities and Leisure Services found in their Leisure Guide. Child may be sponsored for one program per session.  This grant does not apply to camps. There are approximately 50 grants available per year.

Funding

Up to 2/3 of the cost of the program is eligible for subsidization.

Deadline

Applications are accepted year round, for all 4 seasons.

Sport Commission In the Community




On March 2nd and 3rd the Niagara Sport Commission hosted a Fundamental Movement Skills Workshop at Eastdale Secondary in Welland. The workshop helped to certify 10 high school students as community coaches. The NSC would like to thank the Coach's Association of Ontario for helping to arrange this workshop. The students are a part of an NSC Community Engagement Project tying physical activity and leadership to the development of a healthy Niagara.
