PRO Kids Grant

The National Child Benefit Subsidized Recreation Plan has an initiative to support sport and recreation for underprivileged children.  Through the PRO Kids Grant, children ages 0-18 are eligible for recreation/social program subsidization.  This is a Municipal level grant.

Grant Description

This grant is designed to help subsidize youth ages 0-18 participating in recreation/cultural programs.

Specifics and Requirements

Parents on social assistance (Ontario Works or ODSP), subsidized child care, or those residing in Niagara Regional Housing can apply on behalf of their children. Applicant families must live in the Niagara Region.

Sport Commission In the Community




On March 2nd and 3rd the Niagara Sport Commission hosted a Fundamental Movement Skills Workshop at Eastdale Secondary in Welland. The workshop helped to certify 10 high school students as community coaches. The NSC would like to thank the Coach's Association of Ontario for helping to arrange this workshop. The students are a part of an NSC Community Engagement Project tying physical activity and leadership to the development of a healthy Niagara.
