St. Catharines Sport Tourism Grant

The City of St. Catharines offers this grant for organizations hosting sporting events in St. Catharines that generate significant overnight stay in the city.  This grant is applicable for events held at both publicly and privately held venues.

Play, Live, Be Tobacco-Free Sports & Recreation

 

Non-profit local sport and recreation leagues, teams, and organizations wishing to support tobacco-free sport and recreation activities are invited to apply for funding.

The City of Welland is offering subsidies for youth in the Welland community. This grant is specific for the programs offered in their Leisure Guide, and grants are given at a first come first serve basis.  This is a Municipal level grant.

Niagara Falls Alive

 

The City of Niagara Falls Recreation Committee is providing subsidies for underprivileged youth who require financial assistance to participate in community recreation opportunities.  This is a Municipal level grant.

Niagara Community Foundation

The Niagara Community Foundation offers a variety of grants for sport and recreation in the Niagara Region.  These include the Community Grants Program, the Mini Grant Program, the Prosperity for Youth Grant, and the Children's Summer Camp and Recreation Fund. These are all Municipal level grants.

PRO Kids Grant

The National Child Benefit Subsidized Recreation Plan has an initiative to support sport and recreation for underprivileged children.  Through the PRO Kids Grant, children ages 0-18 are eligible for recreation/social program subsidization.  This is a Municipal level grant.

Community Sports Fund

The Welland-Pelham Chamber of Commerce is offering grants for the purpose of establishing and enhancing sport and recreational events in Welland and Pelham. The grant is designed for non-profit organizations located in the Welland and Pelham communities. This is a Municipal grant.

Canadian Tire Jump Start Program

The Canadian Tire Jump Start program is designed to help individual athletes ages 4 to 18 participate in organized sport and recreational activities. This effort is an initiative to help them develop a better lifestyle in their younger years. This is a Municipal level grant.

SoGo Active

SoGo Active is a program launched by ParticipACTION and funded by Coca-Cola Canada ($5 million in Canada over the next five years). Unilike any other initiative, Sogo Active's unique "for youth by youth" approach gives young Canadians the tools to design, change and control their own get active plan.

The Niagara Sports Foundation

The Niagara Falls Sports Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the large number of athletic activities among kids in the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario. It encourages participation in all sports and various other athletic endeavors to help promote an active and healthy lifestyle. Through its fundraising activities, the NFSF supports both clubs and informal athletic organizations in the area, as well as granting sport scholarships to deserving individuals. Through these collective efforts, the NFSF is determined to raise the awareness and participation in youth sports in the Niagara community.

Bob Gale Recreation Fund

This $250,000 fund will provide financial assistance for individuals of all ages from Niagara Falls who, due to financial constraints, are unable to participate in active and healthy lifestyle pursuits. Support is available for anyone interested.

Sport Commission In the Community




On November 19th, the Niagara Sport Commission and the Niagara Falls Red Raiders were honoured as the Host of the Year by Ontario Basketball at their annual Awards Gala held at the Holiday Inn Yorkdale in Toronto. The NSC is proud to accept this award and will be striving grow our success as we host the Under 12 and Under 17 Ontario Cup Championships in 2012 and 2013.
