Recent Successes!

Major Project Updates

Ontario Basketball Championships
The NSC successfully hosted the 2011 U 11 Atom Boys and U 17 Juvenile Boys Ontario Cup. These event allowed the
NSC to put $3,000 back into the pockets of local sport clubs

World Wheelchair Basketball Championships
The NSC was successful in developing and implementing the transportation plan for the first-ever U25
Women’s World Wheelchair Basketball Championships.

129th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta
The NSC s currently finalizing the event audit. The NSC was also tasked with volunteer recruitment and oversight
of the Safety boats and presentations committees.

Open Water Swim Championships
The NSC assisted with the development of an event website as well as the management of on-line registrations.
NSC also assisted with volunteer training.

CanoeKayak Nationals
The NSC assisted the host organizing committee through the RFP process and assisted in negotiating contracts for logistical elements. The NSC also arranged hotel and transportation commissions, as well as promoted volunteer opportunities on the HOC’s behalf

International Powerlifting Championships
The NSC arranged all VISAs for participants over the summer. NSC also assisted with transportation and
hotel commissions, as well as with the assembly of athlete packages
 
Sport Commission In the Community




On November 19th, the Niagara Sport Commission and the Niagara Falls Red Raiders were honoured as the Host of the Year by Ontario Basketball at their annual Awards Gala held at the Holiday Inn Yorkdale in Toronto. The NSC is proud to accept this award and will be striving grow our success as we host the Under 12 and Under 17 Ontario Cup Championships in 2012 and 2013.
