6 What are the goals of the Niagara Sport Commission?

7 How will the Niagara Sport Commission assist in community sport organizations?
The Niagara Sport Commission will provide the coordinated effort needed to support Niagara's 250+ community sport organizations. Local sport clubs expend great effort to attract resources needed to deliver quality programs to the residents of Niagara. Sport clubs need volunteers, training for administrators, coaches, and officials, continued sources of funding, marketing expertise, and technology. The Niagara Sport Commission will work to enhance the capacity of local sport clubs and the thousands of volunteers who deliver sport to over 120,000 children, youth, and adults in Niagara. Coordinating efforts to attract corporate partners, to apply for grants, and to recruit and train volunteers are just a few tasks the would support Niagara's sport organizations.
8 How will the Niagara Sport Commission assist individuals and Families?
Residents of Niagara will benefit from Niagara Sport Commission helping to communicate a shared vision across the region where sport is recognized as a place to build the leaders of tomorrow, as a means to feel part of the community, and as a way to experience the joys of friendship and family. Sport is widely recognizes as a tool for community development, to increase safety and reduce crime, to promote health and social inclusion, and to empower individuals to realize their potential. The Niagara Sport Commission will help ensure sport provides the opportunities for our youth to develop into leaders, for our employees to develop teamwork, for our children to feel good about themselves, and for every resident to feel part of their community.
9 How will the Niagara Sport Commission assist the municipalities and the region?
This region has the capacity to be a centre for sport medicine, to be a focus for innovation in volunteer training and development, and a place that fosters new business in sport marketing, sport hosting, sport equipment businesses such as dragon boat manufacturing and sport research and development. This region already has the resources needed to rival other sport tourism destinations in Canada, and the Niagara Sport Commission will provide the coordinated effort required to attract sport events and to deliver superior experiences to our visitors.
